KEPCO E&C shipped the final part of Darlington Nuclear Plant Unit 3 in Canada from SKT in Changwon on January 14.

The three shipped nuclear parts, including the shielding sleeve, were manufactured in Korea and are crucial components, along with two retaining ring types of the end fitting that is replaced for the life extension of Darlington Plant Unit 3, which manufactured and supplied by US-based Smalley in November 2018.

The three nuclear reactor parts shipped on the day were approved for final shipment through the complicated and demanding process from preparation of the inspection plan to the approval of the raw material acquisition, manufacturing, test, inspection, and approval of related documents.

KEPCO E&C plans to continue in focusing on project management and quality management so that the parts related to Units 1 and 4 are also shipped in time.
