Seminar for Nuclear Equipment Verification

KEPCO E&C held the “Seminar for nuclear equipment verification” on June 20, with nuclear equipment suppliers in attendance.

The Seminar was jointly held by KEPCO E&C and Korea Nuclear Equipment Advancement Association (KNEAA) and participated in by more than 100 technical staff from nuclear equipment suppliers and equipment verification agencies including International Electric, Century, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, and Korea SGS.

The participants shared information and discussed the following six subjects: ▷ Supplier inspection related to equipment verification; ▷ Standard for the establishment of a quality assurance plan by performance verification agency; ▷ Regulatory trend on equipment verification; ▷ Trend of EMI technology standard revision; ▷ Quality verification of general specification of digital devices; and ▷ Seismic verification of replacement equipment and parts in the operating nuclear power plants.

“Equipment verification is a crucial procedure to ensure the performance and safety of nuclear power plants, and everybody associated with nuclear power must pay utmost attention. All agencies related to the nuclear industry should continue striving to regain public confidence by enhancing safety through quality assurance,” said Kim Yeong-ho, acting Executive Senior Vice President. 

KEPCO E&C plans to secure public trust in nuclear power plants by continuing its effort of providing technical support to help the nuclear equipment suppliers understand equipment verification better.
