 A ceremony for the inauguration of the new CEO Lee Bae-Soo was held on February 13.

The ceremony was conducted in the form of a slide presentation entitled ‘KEPCO E&C’s plan for innovative growth,’ in which the new CEO explained in person KEPCO E&C’s goals and key directions for his term in office.

 “There is a need for fundamental change and innovation to cope with changes in the business environment including the government’s energy conversion policy,” said CEO Lee Bae-Soo. “We will transform into a company capable of achieving sustainable development by banking on our potential, which has allowed us to develop from a technology backwater into a world-class technology company.”

“In compliance with the government’s energy conversion policy, we will expand our capability to invest in and industrialize our new energy business including renewable energy.”

He went on to say that “We will continue to secure growth potential through overseas markets while diversifying the boundary of core businesses in our conventional main businesses including nuclear and thermal power,” vowing that he would continue to enhance KEPCO E&C’s management system and risk management capacity to better comply with an export-oriented business structure.

Additionally, “By boldly eliminating cause of inefficiency, we will swiftly cope with risks and changes at the global level,” he said while pledging to maximize the capability of KEPCO E&C’s human capital through innovation of its systems and mindset, and a systematic human resources development system.

In closing, CEO Lee said, “As a state-run company based in Gyeongbuk Gimcheon Innovation City, we will proactively implement cooperation with the local community to spearhead job creation and shared-growth with small and medium-sized companies through growth and challenges.”
