On June 12, KEPCO E&C signed an MOU with U.S. company ADVENT on cooperation in the development of technology for advanced reactor and medium and small nuclear reactor.

In attendance at the signing ceremony were Ravi Baliga, president of ADVENT, and representatives from both companies. Notably, the participation of the vice-president of ADVENT’s overseas marketing division and the person in charge of overseas business development, both of whom showed great interest in cooperating with our company, was unprecedented.

Along with the signing event there were also presentations and discussions on the status of technological development required for effective cooperation between the two companies, as well as fields which required cooperation in the future.

Founded in 1988 and based in San Ramon, California, ADVENT is a professional engineering firm that provides services related with the construction of major facilities in the energy field and the nuclear power industry, as well as technological inspection of designs.

Our mutual cooperation began when we sought its partial counsel regarding the IHA (Integrated Head Assembly) design, and since then it has participated in various technological advice works, providing us with high-quality and diligent technological support.

With the latest MOU, both companies have agreed to work together in a strong, trusting partnership in various areas, such as licensing and construction evaluations of key technologies and acquisition of the skills required to build advanced reactor and medium and small-sized nuclear reactor.
