KEPCO E&C opened the nuclear power plant engineering school for UAE university students on August 1 - 5.
10 interns majoring in nuclear, mechanical, or electrical engineering in UAE Khalifa University or KAIST participated.
This school is part of the internship program for training the young global nuclear workforce according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for energy cooperation between UAE and South Korea in 2014.
The school offered various and intensive lectures in areas such as nuclear energy, civil engineering, machinery, piping, electricity, and design characteristics of the UAE nuclear power plant. This drew positive response from the students.
The internship program is in the form of itinerant education and is jointly arranged by KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS) and Korea Nuclear Association for International Cooperation (KNA). The participating organizations include Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), Korea Plant Service & Engineering (KEPCO KPS), and KEPCO E&C. The program period is six weeks.
