KOPEC signed an MOU with Korea Nuclear Fuel Co., Ltd.(KNFC) on January 18 in the board of directors conference room located on the fifth floor of its main building to add a boost to nuclear power business and technology development.

According to the MOU, the two companies are to form a joint management council and expand reciprocal cooperation in domestic and overseas nuclear power projects as well as nuclear energy R&D projects.

The MOU will expand the scope of service through a close collaboration in nuclear fuel and system designs, enabling both of the companies to meet the increasing demand for large replacement equipment, operation maintenance and O&M-related services due to the increasing number of old nuclear power plants in Korea. The two companies expect that the MOU will give them a better chance of winning more nuclear power plant rehabilitation projects while also ensuring mutual cooperation in improving the efficiency and safety of nuclear energy systems
